Michael Jackson - Money, Drugs & Fame

This article is just another publicity whore exploiting Michael Jackson's personal finances. I have respect for a very talented musician, no one Is perfect nor do I condone the allegations that he has been confused of In the past.
I admit I know nothing about his life, Michael was very talented and at one time very rich! I don't think he was ever happy. Money, drugs and fame have ruined so many people!
Mike was a super star, a great dancer, singer, the most recognized entertainer that walked this earth. No matter what happened to him on the person side, fans loved him until the end.
Proves one thing----money and fame don't necessarily make you happy. But you need money to live!
We will go into a feeding frenzy dealing with MJ´s genius, business acumen, phlilanthrophy and how he made millions if not billions for Sony and how we can profit from it.
Looks like it's a case of "the more you have the more you spend". NICE TO BE RICH

One of the few artists to have been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame twice, his other achievements include multiple Guinness World Records—including one for "Most Successful Entertainer of All Time"—13 Grammy Awards, 13 number one singles in his solo career, and the sale of 750 million records worldwide.[3] At the time of his death, he was preparing for This Is It, a series of 50 concerts that would have been held at the O2 Arena in London at the beginning of July 13, 2009.

A predicted ending by him, Michael Jackson reunites with Elvis                         M.J. joins  the King of Rock and other rock, pop icons; Kurt Cobain, Jimmy Hendrix, John Lennon, Princess Diana, Bob Marly, etc...

Michael Jackson's former wife Lisa Marie Presley yesterday said the King of Pop feared he would die like another superstar...her dad Elvis.
Lisa-Marie wrote on the internet: "Years ago Michael and I were having a deep conversation about life in general.
"I can't recall the exact subject matter but he may have been questioning me about the circumstances of my father's death. At some point he paused, he stared at me very intensely and he stated with an almost calm certainty, 'I am afraid that I am going to end up like him, the way he did'."
Lisa Marie, 41, added: "I tried to deter him from the idea, at which point he just shrugged his shoulders and nodded, almost matter of fact, as if to let me know he knew what he knew and that was that. And this is it.
"Fourteen years later I am sitting here watching on the news an ambulance leaving the driveway of his home, the big gates, the crowds outside the gates, the coverage, the crowds outside the hospital, the cause of death and what may have led up to it and the memory of this conversation hit me, as did the unstoppable tears.

Who Gets What ?                                                                                                                                      When someone famous dies that has alot of debts there are alot of finacial questions. Who gets what? Will his children be provide for? Will they be as sucessful as the Elvis estate was at marketing? Will there be so much strife between family members that the lawyers are the only one who gets paid? It is unfortunate that Mr. Jackson died suddenly. After the mourning period, there are alot of issues that need to be addressed.
All fighting about money starts the second the person dies. It will happen in your family and it will happen in mine.

During his life,( MJ was once worth $2.3 billion dollars gross of debts) Michael sold hundreds of millions of records, and his musical legacy should easily have led him to amass one of the greatest fortunes in show-business history. But instead, a history of bad management, excessive personal spending, $300 million to charity more then any other celebrity ( Remember a little project called..."We Are the World".)
(In 2000, Jackson was listed in the book of Guinness World Records for his support of 39 charities, more than any other entertainer or personality.)
and big legal bills left him, at his death, he was almost broke.

Like so many popular entertainers, Jackson's net worth is based in the rights to his own music. But he was also an astute businessman who owned a 25 percent share of the Beatles catalogue of songs, ( Beatles Games-Rock Band ) which he shares with Sony, as well as his cars, art, antiques and other collectibles.
Michael financed personal debts by borrowing against assets, and by some estimates his total borrowings at his death may have exceeded $400 million, Michal needed some debt help.             With his death, that spending will end, of course.
And it wasn't all personal spending: according to record-industry executives, Michael would drop as much as $20-30 million recording an album over two or three years in his quest for perfection. His videos cost as much as $8 million. While Sony picked up part of the tab, Jackson was responsible for a hefty portion.
Sony Music Group, his partner and record label, will likely end up owning his most valuable musical asset: his share of Sony/ATV Music Publishing. A joint venture that Jackson and Sony formed 14 years ago, Sony/ATV owns 750,000 era-spanning hits and classics; its most prized asset is the song rights to most of the works of the Beatles, which Jackson managed to purchase in 1985 for $47.5 million
Jackson's publishing assets generate $50 million to $75 million a year. He collects a share of it, which is split with his partners. Sales of his past recordings easily yield another $5 million annually in 1988, Michael paid $14.6 million for Neverland, a 2,500-acre property in Santa Barbara, CA. The white glove worn by Michael on his 1984 Victory tour has sold at auction for a staggering $ 66,000 illuminated by 50 tiny lights embroidered into the material "The ultimate piece of memorabilia"
Michael Jackson's assets and brand rights may be worth an estimated $1.5 to $ 5 billion U S.

For most Americans, the greatest portion of their net worth is tied up in their homes. But for Michael Jackson, who owned Neverland Ranch, his list of assets is much longer than just real estate.
To calculate your net worth, take the value of everything you own, and subtract what you owe. So if you own a house, cars, artwork, jewelry, stocks, bonds, and a bunch of savings, retirement and brokerage accounts, you would add up the value of each of those and then subtract any liabilities, including your mortgage, car loan, school loans, credit card debts, personal loans or any other loans you've taken out.

Philip Anschutz' concert promotion company, AEG Live, planned to promote 50 shows in London's O2 arena. Tickets sold out and the first show for the ''This is It'' tour was set for July 8. AEG hoped to raise $400 million through a 3.5 year plan to work with Jackson.
And with his sudden passing, it remains for the courts to divide up Michael Jackson's assets to satisfy his lenders.
Now in death, Michael will become more famous. Like the great composer's, artist's, writer's... Michael will garner more money and fame. Or I should say, his Estate will
Future earnings from his recordings and assets may largely offset his debts and leave him with a significant estate. "His legacy has a better chance of being preserved for his estate than ever before, and his business affairs are worldwide
The estate "will earn tremendous amounts over the many years, as would be the case when any legendary talent like Michael passes. "He's an icon like Marilyn Monroe and (Elvis still generates 50 million annualy )
As lead of the Jackson 5 and as a solo artist, Jackson "made some of the most incredible music," Estabrook says. "Like many of the greats, it will last for an enormous time." Jackson also leaves behind an uncounted trove of unreleased recordings, many of which may now be released.

Michael Jackson changed history with his influences on pop music and dance.Michael was a performer, with a style all his own. He will forever live in the hearts of many who were priviledged to live in his era. His musical ability, unique dance moves, and provoking performance on stage is what I chose to remember him by. He kept his audiance alive, awake and interested.
Michael Jackson will go down in history as the greatest entertainer in the world.

He put in the sweat, hard work, gave up his childhood to pursue his dream of being a mega star and in doing so set the bar so high that NO ONE will ever reach his measure of fame.
M J fans span all continents. There is not a country on this planet who doesn't know Mike.

With proper management, his estate could raise many times that 400 million through the sale of some of his possessions, rights to a movie about his life and the increased volume in the sales of his music. Like Elvis, he could be worth far more after his death than when he was alive performing. The key is to keep the Michael Jackson name out of the hands of greedy people that could squander it away. Management of his estate would be better off outside the Jackson family. In Michael's favor.... worldwide mass appeal! 400 Million could be raised in a heartbeat with the right product!
This money, coupled with future income from the leasing of his name and image, royalties, sale of the remainder of Neverland etc. should leave his children and grand children with plenty of money to support them until they are old, or should i say forever.

Michael was an Artist. one of the biggest. Elvis never wrote a song yet folks STILL buy Elvis stuff and visit Graceland and Pay just to be reminded and see All that was once a living man called the King of Rock and Roll, no one has since taken that title and No one will take away the title of King of Pop from Michael.
Michael Like Elvis, Marilyn, Kobain, Bob Marley, Jimi Hendrix, James Dean, or all worth more Dead. Billions of dollars will be made off Michaels name..whether it be lies, truth, confessions, all kind of money will be made and the debts he had will Disappear.
Elvis is a Prime example and Michael was Bigger than Elvis..who never wrote a song. atleast the Beatles tie with Michael for song writing skills but not for performance and dancing if nothing else. Michael Jackson is now Immortal

If you look back thru history some of the most gifted and talented artists were the most unusual and eccentric people on this planet.

People seem to forget that they are the ones that cultivate the "idol" worship and then expect the artist to live up to their expectations...

Imperfect human beings..inner struggles..great talent.

Some are given gifts like Elvis and Michael both have given so much but they could not handle real life. There are many more like them in the past. We tend to make them more than what they are and we help them in that way down the wrong path When my generation dies off elvis will be a foot note in history and when the next generation goes so will Michael Im glad their gift gave us so much fun and pleasure.

It is a shame that some of our brightest stars throughout history burn very brightly, very quickly, and all of a sudden, crash and burn out.Michael will be remember as the KING of POP that he was,we will all mourn his death, place his name with all the rest of the brightest stars that have died, and move on with our lives.Michael Jackson was very talented, one of the greatest , most unique talents of so many generations, 40 years of music. Having a career that spanned decades,he lived a life a wealth most of us will never know,he lived a full life!  He's a Pop ICON.
